Once when I was almost physically drowning as a child, but then many, many, many more times in life metaphorically. So I love that artist Brooke Lambrix brought this piece in for the Created to Create Show!
Life can be crazy, there are bills, kids, stress, bosses, stressful traffic. Sometimes we over commit, other times we attempt something that is beyond our abilities, and other times we have emotional or health struggles. When life gets like this it completely feels like we are drowning, it's hard to breath, or our brains feel like they are swirling around in our heads.
But grabbing onto Jesus' hand can 100% make it better. We just have to take a second and remember He is there with us, and ready to help us out!
When I look at this piece I feel like Brooke, was totally channeling this feeling while she painting, looking at the movement of the water and the bubbles, I get a sense of calm. Even though I know the person in this pic was actually in a stressful situation before Jesus garbed his hand, and seeing Jesus' face peek into the water brings joy and comfort. You know it's all going to be ok!
Come and check out this piece and Brooke's other two paintings at the Gallery currently hanging until the end of June.
